Comparing Hoover Max Extract Models


Let’s discuss the difference between the Hoover Max Extract Models, including Max Extract 60 Pressure Pro Carpet Cleaner FH50220, Max Extract 77 Multi-Surface Pro Carpet & Hard Floor Cleaner
FH50240, Max Extract All Terrain Carpet Cleaner F7452900PC, Max Extract Dual V WidePath Carpet Washer F7412900

* SpinScrub
The Max Extract 60, All Terrain, Dual V WidePath use Spin Scrub 60.
The Max Extract 77 uses SpinScrub 77.

Don’t know the performance difference, but the design difference is apparent. The SpinScrub 60 has 6 brushes whereas the 77 has 11 brushes.

* Edge Cleaner
It seems that the Max Extract 60 does not has the lime green Edge Cleaner which the Max Extract 77, All Terrain and Dual V WidePath include.

* SpinScrub Setting Options
The Max Extract 77, All Terrain and Dual V WidePath feature the SpinSrub Setting Options that has 3 modes for different needs –
“Spill Pickup mode is suction only, without brush agitation action.
Gentle Scrub mode rotates brushes at slower speed for ceramic tile, linoleum and sealed hardwood floors.
Power Scrub mode maximizes scrubbing action for cleaning carpet and high-traffic areas.”
The control slider is located on the base of the machine.

The Max Extract 60 does not have this adjustable option.

* Tank Capacity
The Max Extract 60 and 77 have 1.15 gallon clean water tank, the All Terrain and Dual V WidePath have 1 ganllon tank capacity.

* Clean Surge
The Max Extract 77 has a Clean Surge feature whereas the other three do not have.
There is a Clean Surge button on the handle that allows you to apply extra detergent to clean stains and heavy traffic areas.

* AutoRinse
The Max Extract 77 and All Terrain have AutoRinse feature whereas the 60 and Dual V WidePath do not feature.
You can set cleaner to wash with detergent on forward stroke, then automatically rinses with fresh water on the backwards stroke.

* Hose Length
Max Extract 60 and 77 have a 9 ft. hose.
The Dual V WidePath and All Terrain come with a 8 ft. hose.

* Motor Amps
The Max Extract 60 and 77 have a 10 amps motor whereas the All Terrain and Dual V WidePath have a 12 amps motor.

The Max Extract Dual V WidePath and All Terrain have the On/Off and Wash/Rinse Selector on the handle for finger tip control while the 60 and 77 have them near the middle or top part of the machines.

* Weight
Max Extract 60 – 21.85 lbs
77 – 22.5 lbs
Dual V WidePath – 27 lbs
All Terrain – 30 lbs

* Warranty
The Max Extract All Terrain and Dual V WidePath come with 1 year limited warranty while the 60 and 77 come with 2 year limited warranty.

* Multi-Floor Cleaning Capability
The Max Extract 77 – Yes, come with hard floor tool
The All Terrain – Yes, come with hard floor tool
The 60 – This is a carpet/area rug cleaner. According to customer care, when clean hard floors, you should use it with the squeegee (part number is 440001358). The machine does not come with the squeegee. You need to buy it separately.
Dual V WidePath – does not come with hard floor squeegee

These are not vacuum cleaner, steamer, they have no water heater.
They have separate tanks for clean water and dirty water.
