Just ordered the Rotator Power Lift Away model number NV652 directly from Shark and got a great deal. I have 2 dogs, but no need for powered pet brush since my furniture is leather. I love, love, love this vacuum. I have considered becoming a paid endorser for the product, NOT!!!

Is this actually true can someone confirm this or is this a random misleading statement. I have not read or heard of any difference besides color and included attachments in these models.

I have read that these are all equivalent machines with the only differences coming from the color and the design of the exhaust filter grill. Also each model differs in included accessories. Different models are sold at different retailers. Can someone comment on the apparent statement that the nv652/752 true pet models have stiffer bristles. I have not heard this. It sounds bogus.

The “special” offered now on the website (link above) for $249. Is actually called the NV650w model. It is the same color as the 652 but comes with it’s own set of accessories. And then at the end an add pops up to sell you what it doesn’t have…..they make it so confusing. The 650, 650w, 651 and 652 are basically the same basic units. Only difference is the color and accessories that are included. Seems each store that it is carried in gets it’s own model. Walmart has silver…Target has purple….Personally for the look, I want the silver one NV 650. But Walmart is charging a hefty price for still having to purchase the missing accessories I want ( particularly the motorized pet brush) Why can’t they make it easier on us consumers?

      I think that’s called Marketing.

      Patricia,
Bed Bath and Beyond has the True Pet brush, (motorized pet brush) the NV652, I always get 20% either instore or online coupons in the mail and e mail inbox from them, sign up and use it….love the brush, i have micro suede Couch loveseat combo, and its easy to get up the dog hair (3 boxers ). Only thing i don’t care for is no replacement filters yet so i can rotate them out, the Georgia dust gets in the carpets easy but love the vacuum

I went to the website to see the advertised special and watched the NV652 video and saw the difference between the Dyson and the Shark (again, the NV652). I went through the whole process and purchased what I thought was the NV652, but my receipt had had and item # NV8DRT01, which was an NV500. So not what I ordered, so I called and the customer service rep tried to tell me about the difference between the 650,651 and 652 was only where they were sold. She never addressed what felt like a bait and switch to me. I cancelled the order.

Hi Jackie, sorry to hear that.
I don’t contact Shark customer service any more if I have a question like “what’s the difference between Model A and Model B”. Why? Because, most of the time, the answer is similar to or the same as that you got, “The only difference is only where they were sold.” “The only difference is where they were sold and the included accessories.”
They don’t tell you any more details.

Yeah I notice that when I try to order the 652 or the 650 the cost and model number are the same. Is there really a difference? Which would will I get?

This is a bait and switch. They display a nv652 and also use it for a demo against the Dyson. Then go to order and instead of a 652 they give you a 650 and tell you to pay for the optional items that are standard on the 652. The total ends up being $419.00 way more than the 652 in the store. Three days of run around with their phone customer service. One day they charge tax the next time not. On time you can make 5 payments next time not. Typical bait and switch. I made a video of the whole process. Will be sending it to my stat commerce department.

Tom, I purchase the NV652 last week at Bed Bath and Beyond for $259.69 including 6% tax. It retails for $349.99 and I used a 30% off coupon from Kohl’s.
      I’m loving it!

Are both the NV651 and NV652 self propelled? Is one easier to push than the other? I have an injured back so that makes a difference to me! Thanks!

Can you turn off the brush on the regular head to quickly clean wood floors next to carpets without needing to change the head out?
We have pets that are on the furniture, hardwood in the common areas & stairs w/ a couple area rugs, and carpet in the bedrooms. We have allergies so I need a good filter system and vacuum that can do a lot of different tasks. But can really that knock out everyday cleaning fast with easy transitions between surfaces & tools. Wondering if one of these models these will be really be a good fit…?

Hi Molly, you can turn off the beater bar on the regular cleaner head, the control is located on the handle.
The Shark NV650 series feature completely sealed system with superior HEPA filtration.
The NV652 model comes with a TruePet Mini Motorized Brush for picking up pet hair, loose debris, and deep cleans dander out of upholstery and surfaces.

    Bpvac:

We purchased five weeks ago a NV650 from Sears. There was a cord problems. We call customer service who were great, and the sent out a new replacement vaccum cleaner. However, the replacement vacuum cleaner as model NV651, with just a few attachments. What is the difference? Bpvac said the difference is the NV650 series feature a completely sealed system with superior HEPA filtration. Is there a difference in price or should we return and request the same replacement model (NV650)

    Thank you,
    Dennis

Thinking about buying the NV652 unit. When I go to check out it says buy these true motorized pet brush, canister caddy, and hard floor genie for $89. Don’t these come already with it for $249 or is it a separate purchase?

I have mostly hard wood, which Shark would be best for me. Does the one where the brush turns off pick up better than with the brush. I have read that you can do hardwood floors better without a brush roller as it throws the dirt around. I first thought of getting the 501 and started looking at the 650 and 651. Anyone have any recommendations. I really need some more for hardwood floors. Also have 2 dogs.

SHARK ROTATOR MD # NV650W …….Without question, the best vac we’ve ever owned for the combination of performance, accessories, and innovative features. I did find it helpful to empty the ‘dust cup’ often, which is so easy and convenient. I know it is not advertised as self propelled, but in the power brush ‘on’ mode, it does pull itself forward…..as if it was. We would highly recommend it for general household use. We were a little disappointed that the package didn’t include the ‘Hard Floor Genie’ , which from the presentation seemed to be a part of our purchase, but, overall, we have been very pleased.

Tried to order shark 650w on their website. At end of order the total came to 557.00. Called shark and they also had a total of 607. 00.spoke with 4 different people. Price should have been 338.00. Cancelled my order. They use bait and switch to confuse customers. Stay away from them

I’m trying to decide between the 552, the 652, and the 752. Can anyone lay out the differences? For example, is the 752 low profile like the 652 or thick like the 552? Do they all have the under-appliance tool? As almost everyone here has noted, the lists of included features are written for maximum consumer confusion.
