Dyson DC23 vs DC26 Review: what is the difference

Compare and find the differences between DC23 and DC26 below.

Suction Power
DC23 has more powerful suction.
DC23 has a suction power of 220 air watts while DC26 has 160 air watts.

DC23 comes with a crevice tool, stair tool, and brush tool; DC26 has a combination accessory tool and articulating hard floor tool.

Bin Capacity
DC23 has a much bigger bin.
The bin capacity of DC23 is 0.44 gallons while DC26 has a 0.15 gallon bin. They both require frequent emptying, especially the DC26.

DC26 is much lighter.
DC23 weighs 19.5 pounds while DC26 weighs 12 pounds.

Cord Length
DC23 has a longer cord.
DC23 has a cord length of 21.6 feet while DC26 has a 16.5 ft cord. Both of them are too short for a large house.

DC26 is smaller, it is Dyson’s smallest and lightest canister vac.
The dimensions of DC23 are 13.9″ x 19.3″ x 11.9″ while the dimensions of DC26 are 10.5″ x 12.6″ x 8.27″.

These two canister vacuum cleaners both are canister vacuum, they use fixed wheel, come with lifetime washable HEPA filters, carry 5 year warranty, and are priced at $399.99 at Dyson.com (prices checked on August 8, 2011).

Overall, DC23 is more powerful than DC26; DC26 is small and good for small condo, but it is way too small.
They cleans hard floor well but so so for carpets, if you have mostly carpets, you’d better buy an upright vacuum such as DC25.
