The two robots both can only be used to clean hard surface floors, they are not able to clean carpets, rugs, mats, etc.
Mint just traps mess onto its pad, whereas the Scoomba preps, washes, scrubs and dries your floors.

* Noise Level
Mint is much quieter than the Scooba.
The Mint is pretty quiet, you can run it when you are watching TV. On the other hand, the Scooba is loud when it is working. You probably would not like to run it while you are at home.

* Leaving water on floors?
Users say that the Scooba leaves a trail of water on the floors while the Mint doesn’t have this problem.
However, it seems the Mint does not clean the floors as well as the Scooba does.

* Maintenance
The Mint requires less maintenance and cleaning. The Mint does not include any brush, filter, or dirty tank to be cleaned. In contrast, you have to clean Scooba’s brush, filter, and the dirty tank after every use.

* Shape and Size:
The base of Scooba is round, while the Mint looks like square shape, but a bit irregular.
The Mint is smaller and lower.
Scooba dimensions: 14.8″ in diameter, 3.6″ in height
Mint dimensions: 9.6″ x 8.5″ x 3.1″

* Navigation Tool
Mint Plus comes with the NorthStar2 Navigation Cube that helps Mint navigate, whereas the Scooba includes Virtual Walls to limit it to clean a specific room.

* Efficiency
The Mint Plus cleans the floor more efficient.

* Price
The Mint Plus 5200 is much cheaper than the Scooba 390.
At iRobot.com, the Scooba 390 is priced at $499.99, while the Mint Plus 5200 is priced at $299.99 when we wrote this post.

    Hi,
    You said that Mint does not clean the floors as well as the Scooba does, but the Mint Plus cleans the floor more efficient? That sounds a little contradictory :/
    I’m still confused about which one will work better.
    Can you help me?

    Thanks

      I use the wrong word? Sorry for my poor English. When I use “Efficient”, I mean the Roomba use a random cleaning algorithm, it clean the same spot repeatly; Mint plus clean smarter and faster.
