Mint vs Roomba what’s the difference?

What is the difference between Mint and Roomba? We will make a simple comparison between these two robotic cleaners, list the major difference, and help you buy the right one that meets your needs.

* Automatic Hard Floor Cleaner vs Robotic Vacuum
If you need a robot to pick up pet hair and dust from carpets, you should choose Roomba; if you need a robotic sweeper and mopper for hard surfaces, then you should go with Mint.
Mint (including Mint 4200, Mint 4205, Mint Plus 5200, Mint Plus 5200C) is just designed for cleaning hard floors, something like a sweeper and mopper. It is not a robotic vacuum cleaner, it just traps hair, dust, etc onto the pad. And it is not able to clean carpets, mats, rugs, etc.
Roomba is a robotic vac, it can pick up things from both carpets and bare floors. But it does not have the wet mopping feature.

* Brushes
The Mint does not have rotating brushes, also no side brushes for cleaning edges and corners, the Roomba has these brushes.

* Noise Level
Mint is a lot quieter than the Roomba, it won’t scare your pets and kids. Mint is so quiet that you can run it while you are at home, but Roomba, you probably won’t do that though it is not as loud as a full size.

* Maintenance
The Roomba requires more maintenance and cleaning. Because it is a small size bagless vacuum, it has the brushes, the filter, and the dust bin, you have to clean them frequently, just as what you do with the full size vac. The Mint does not have any brush, filter or dust cup to be cleaned.

* Size
Roomba is larger than the Mint.

* Self Charging Station
The Rooomba has a charging dock, it can return to the charging base to recharge on its own; the Mint does not have the Self Charging feature.

*
Mint does not have the cliff sensor like the Roomba, the cliff sensor stops the robot from committing suicide by dropping down stairs.

*
Mint has the NorthStar Navigation Cube that helps Mint Navigate, whereas Roomba has the thing they call Virtual Walls to get Roomba clean where you need it and stop it from going to particular areas.
