DC33 has a much larger bin.
The bin capacity of DC33 is 0.61 gallons while it is only 0.19 gallon on DC24. A small bin means you have to empty it frequently, this is an annoying thing. For large area cleaning, DC33 is better.

4, Weight
DC24 is much lighter.
DC24 weighs only 11.65 lbs while DC33 weighs 17.6 lbs. If you have to carry the vacuum up and down stairs often, DC24 is better.

5, Size
DC24 is smaller.
The dimensions of DC24 is 29.6″ x 11.0″ x 13.7″(HxWxD) while the dimensions of DC33 is 44.9″ x 13.4″ x 14.0″(HxWxD). Because of the big size, the DC33 cannot get under furniture, whereas DC24 does a better job.

6, Movement type
DC24 uses Dyson’s ball technology while DC33 uses fixed wheel. Is ball technology better? Some people likes it while others don’t. Commonly, it does take some time to get used to it.

7, Tools
DC33 comes with a stair tool for removing dust and dirt from stairs and stair carpets whereas DC24 doesn’t.

These two vacuum cleaners have the same price $399.99 at Dyson.com (price checked on July 22, 2011). If you need a small and lightweight vacuum for your small rooms or apartment, then DC24 is a good choice. Otherwise, you’d better order the DC33 which has a lot more suction.

D33 has a different control type. Its brushbar on/off switch is located on the vac head, so you have to bend down to turn it on/off.

You can remove the brushbar of DC25 while trying to cut away fiber and long hair from it, while the brushbar of DC33 is not removable.

5, Bin capacity
DC33 has a bigger bin.
