These 2 portable machines are designed for cleaning spots and stains on carpets, stairs, upholstery, autos, etc. But there are some big differences between them.

Design
The Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner has a hand tool that equipped with an oscillating motorized brush for spot
removal. While the Bissell Spotbot/Spotbot Pet(same machine) not only comes with a hand tool but also features Spiral Brushing on the bottom of the machine. With the spiral brush, you can remove stains handsfree. You just set the clean cycle, leave it on a spot and it would do the work for you.
However, the hand attachment on the Rug Doctor is larger and has better suction.

The Rug Doctor has Carpet-Friendly Wheels and a Telescoping Handle that make it convenient to move around the house or clean the stairs. While the Bissell has no wheels and only a carrying handle.

Motor Amperage
It is 10 amps on the Rug Doctor versus 3 amps on the Bissell.

Tank
Both of them has a clean water tank and a collecting tank, however, the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner has larger tanks.

The Bissell Spotbot is ligther.

Suction
According to user reviews, the Rug Doctor has stronger suction. While using the Bissell handsfree mode, it can leaves too much liquid.

It is easier to clean the inside of the dirty water tank on the Rug Doctor.

Overall, if you want to use the a small machine for your upholstery, furniture, autos, you can buy the Rug Doctor. If you are looking for a portable machine for cleaning dog and cat accident stains and smells on carpets, then you can try the Spotbot/Spotbot Pet.

What’s the Difference Between Rug Doctor Mighty Pro and X3 and Wide Track?

image from manufacturer

According to Rug Doctor customer service, the main difference between Rug Doctor Mighty Pro, Mighty Pro X3 and Wide Track carpet cleaning machines is the size, weight and capacity.

The Might Pro is the smallest one whereas the Wide Track is the largest one.
The approximate cleaning path of the Might Pro, X3, and Wide Track are 9.25 inches, 10 inches, and 11.25 inches.
The Mighty Pro weighs 36 lbs, the X3 weighs 39 lbs, whereas the Wide Track weighs about 44 lbs.

All of them have 2 tanks – a clean water tank for holding clean water or clean water mixing with cleaning detergent, and a recovery tank for collecting waste water. The clean water tank is smaller than recovery tank.
The clean water tank on Mighty Pro can hold 2.6 gallons versus 3.0 gallons on the X3, versus 3.7 gallons on the Wide Track.
The recover tank on Mighty Pro has a tank capacity of 3.1 gallons versus 3.9 gallons on the X3, versus 4.8 gallons on the Wide Track.
According to product specs, a full clean water tank of the Mighty Pro can cover 118 sq. ft. , X3 can cover 147 sq. ft. whereas the Wide Track has a full tank coverage of 159 sq. ft.

The Mighty Pro and Mighty Pro X3 use single solution pump and 2 jets, pump pressure is 28 psi.
The Wide Track features dual pump and 2 jets, pump pressure is 32 psi.

Mighty Pro has more metal parts than the Mighty Pro X3.

The last thing – price.
On rugdoctor.com, only the Mighty Pro X3 and Wide Track are available to purchase while I am writing this short article, the Mighty Pro X3 is priced at $459.99 whereas the Wide Track is about $300 more expensive, its list price is $749.94.

For a house that is larger than average size, you may want to consider the Wide Track. But if you have a small apartment then you won’t like it, this thing is bulky and heavy, not easy to move and get close to the edges, you’d better consider a smaller one.

Compare Bissell Little Green vs Pet vs Pet Deluxe vs ProHeat vs Pro vs Pet Pro what’s the difference?(updated in Feb. 2023)

The Bissell Little Green Machine series includes a few models:

  • The original Little Green such as 1400B;
  • Little Green Pet such as 1400W (exclusive to Walmart);
  • Little Green Pet Deluxe such as 3353;
  • Little Green ProHeat such as 2513G and 5207G (exclusive to Target);
  • Little Green Pro such as 2505 (exclusive to Walmart);
  • Little Green Pet Pro such as 2891.

They are portable carpet cleaner machines designed for removing spots and stains on carpeted stairs, area rugs, upholstery, auto interiors, etc. (If you want a deep cleaning carpet extractor for large wall to wall carpet, you may want to consider the Bissell BG10 carpet washer.)
Though they are all from the Little Green series, they are not exactly the same, they have some similarities as well as some differences.

Below I will list some differences between them to help you make an informed purchase.

  • The original Little Green (1400B/1400M) , 3369, the Little Green Pet(1400W), Little Green Pet Deluxe 3353 are almost the same except for the color and included formulas and tools.
    The Little Green 1400B/1400M are in green color, 3369 is dark grey, the Pet is in purple, Pet Deluxe 3353 is dark grey/blue.
    The Little Green comes with one trial size general spot and stain formula while the Pet, Pet Deluxe comes with 2 trial size bottles of formulas that are produced specifically for removing pet stains and odors.
    The Little Green comes with only one tool: 3-inch Tough Stain Tool, whereas the Pet and Pet Deluxe includes an additional Stain Trapper Tool.
    Otherwise, these machines are almost the same.

    3-inch Tough Stian Tool: Cleans up spots, stains and other messes on carpeted stairs, upholstery, car seats, and other hard to reach surfaces.

    Stain Trapper Tool:

    image from Bissell infomercial

    Unlike the other tools, this self contained tool has its own container, you use it to spray, scrub and suction up messes, and those messes will be collected and stored inside the tool.
  • The ProHeat is a bit different from the above 2 models. It has a different shape and features the HeatWave technology.
    There used to be an old ProHeat version such as model 14259, the shape is similar to the original Little Green. It has a 9 amps motor and a built-in heater to continuously heat the water in the tank up to 25 degree hotter and the temperature will not be over 180 degrees. It also has a Heater Switch and Heat Indicator Light at the front besides the Power Switch. According to the info on Bissell official website, this one is no longer available now.
    The new ProHeat version, such as 2513G and 5207G, now equipped with a 3 amps motor, and they no long have a heater inside the machine. Instead, they feature the so called HeatWave technology – it utilizes the heat that generated by the motor to maintain the water temperature, but it does not heat up the water like a heater.
    And the appearance is completely different from the older version. It looks more like the Bissell SpotClean series.
    This one comes with a 3-inch Tough Stain Tool, a 3-in-1 Stair Tool, a HydroRinse Self-Cleaning Hose Tool, and a trial-size Professional Spot & Stain + Oxy formula.

    3-in-1 Stair Tool:

    image from Bissell infomercial

    This tool sprays, scrubs and suctions up dirt and stains from the outer curves, corners and treads of carpeted staircases.

    HydroRinse Self-Cleaning Hose Tool:

    images from Bissell infomercial

    This tool is designed specifically to clean out your hose after each use.
  • The Little Green Pro, such as 2505, and Pet Pro, such as 2891, are two upgraded versions. It seems that these two are the same machine as the SpotClean Professional 3624, but using different names. They are more powerful and larger than the Little Green, they have 5.7 amps motor, longer power cable which is 20-foot long versus 15-foot on the previous Little Green models, longer hose which is 5-foot, double tank capacity which is now 96 ounces versus 48 ounces on the Little Green, weighs over 3.5 pounds heavier, and carry one more year limited warranty than the original Little Green.
    The main difference between these two is the color, included tools and formulas.
    The Pro is in Black/ChaCha Lime while the Pet Pro is Black/Blue.
    The Pro comes with a Deep Stain Tool, a 4-inch Tough Stain Tool and a trial-size PRO MAX Clean + Protect Formula. Whereas the Pet Pro includes a Pet Stain Tool, a 3-inch Tough Stain Tool, a Spraying Crevice Tool, and one trial-size PET PRO OXY Urine Eliminator formula.

    Deep Stain Tool: It delivers formula deep into the carpet fibers, and its rubber needles and brush bristles help lift and remove those tough messes buried deep within carpet fibers from the bottom up.

    4-inch Tough Stain Tool:
    Similar to the 3-inch tough stain tool, but has a wider cleaning path, scrubs and cleans up tough stains on carpeted surfaces, upholstery, car seats, etc.

    Pet Stain Tool:

    image from Bissell infomercial

    Similar to the Deep Stain Tool, delivers formula deep into the carpet fibers to lift and remove pet stains and odor.
    Spraying Crevice Tool: helps tackle stains in tight spaces and other hard to reach spots.

Rug Doctor Mighty Pro X3 vs Rug Doctor Deep Carpet Cleaner Some Differences you should know before buying

Mighty Pro X3 vs Deep Carpet Cleaner
images from manufacturer

If you are deciding between Rug Doctor Mighty Pro X3 and Deep Carpet Cleaner. I think the first thing you should take into consideration is the PRICE. These two rug doctor carpet washers are not at the same price level. On rugdoctor.com, the list price of the Mighty Pro X3 is $459.99 that is $200 more expensive than the Rug Doctor Deep Carpet Cleaner.

The other thing that matters is the Weight. For those who care about the product weight, just buy the Deep Carpet Cleaner. The Mighty Pro X3 is bulkier and much heavier, a little challenging to carry it up and down stairs, if you are not strong but decide to buy the Mighty Pro X3, please think twice. It is also more difficult to push around.

About the Tank Capacity. The Mighty Pro X3 has much larger clean water tank and collecting tank capacity. It is about 3X of the Deep Carpet Cleaner. On one hand, larger tanks means less refilling and emptying. But on the other hand, the larger waste tank that has a capacity of 3.9 gallons gets quite heavy when full, heavier to lift to dump.

Though the Mighty Pro X3 is bulkier, one thing that is strange is that the Mighty Pro X3 has a narrower cleaning path, it is smaller than 11 inch versus 12 inch on the Deep Carpet Cleaner.

Warranty. The Mighty Pro X3 is commercial grade, it carries 5 year limited warranty versus 2 year on the Deep Carpet Cleaner. Commonly, a longer warranty means that the machine will be longer lasting?

Side brush, not an important one. But if you like it, the Deep Carpet Cleaner has the edge brush while the Mighty Pro X3 does not feature.

Some similarities:
They both have separate clean tank and dirty tank, adjustable and collapsible handle.
No built-in water heater, so you use hot tap water.
No separate detergent tank, you have to pour detergent into hot tap water before cleaning.
No rinse only option. You should fill only hot tap water without any detergent to rinse your carpet.
Designed only for carpets, area rugs, upholstery, cannot be used to clean hard floors such as tile floor.
