The main difference between Bissell 17N4, 17N49 and 17N4P carpet cleaners are the Nozzle and the tools they include.

1, Included Tools
The 17N4 comes with a 3-inch Tough Stain Tool for cleaning stairs, furniture and other hard to reach surfaces, and a 4-inch Deep Reach Pet Tool for tough to clean carpet stains
The 17N4P comes with a 6-inch Stair Tool for cleaning stairs, larger furniture areas and other hard to reach surfaces, and a Stain Trapper Tool for removing extra-gross, extra-stinky messes.
The 17N49 comes with a 3 in 1 Stair Tool for removing dirt and stains from the outer curves, corners and treads of carpeted staircases, and the Stain Trapper Tool

2, Nozzle
The 17N4 has a standard nozzle.
The 17N4P and 17N49 feature a Durastrength Pet Nozzle – reinforced front nozzle to hep prevent cracks, breaks, stop pet hair and debris from getting clogged in the nozzle.

The other difference are the color and included trial size formula.

The Big Green has dual tanks, one tank for clean water and one tank for dirty water, whereas the Proheat uses Tank-in-Tank design. There is a bladder inside the tank, the bladder is for storing clean water. And dirty water will be collected around the outside of the bladder. So, clean and dirty water are kept separate.

* Tank Capacity
The Big Green 86T3 has a larger tank than the Proheat.
The tank capacity are 1.75 gallons versus 0.75 gallons.

* Edge Brush
The ProHeat has edge brushes to help clean edges while the Big Green has no edge brushes.

* Built-in Heater
The Proheat has built-in heater that can heat hot tap water you put in up to 25 degrees hotter whereas the Big Green has no heater.

* Flow Indicator
The Big Green has a Flow Indicator that monitors the levels of water and detergent, lets you know when to add more water and detergent.

Both Bissell ProHeat 25A3 and ProHeat Pet 89108 carpet cleaners are equipped with a 6 Row DirtLifter PowerBrush system (one roller), its floating suspension self-adjusts to all carpet heights, there is no manual adjuster available. And both of them have a Built-in Heater and Tank-in-Tank design.
Below we will discuss the difference between them.

* Pet Tool
The ProHeat Pet comes with a Deep Reach Pet Tool for removing tough pet stains and odors from stairs, upholstery and other hard-to-reach places whereas the ProHeat does not include.

* Tank Capacity
The ProHeat Pet has a larger tank than the Proheat.
The tank capacity are 1.00 gallon versus 0.75 gallons.

* Clean Water and Solution Mixing
The ProHeat Pet has a separate solution tank from the water tank. The clean water and formula are kept separate before cleaning. When cleaning, the machine utilizes a SmartMix function which will mix right amount of formula with water automatically according to your setting – Heavy Traffic, Normal, or Water Rinse.
Whereas the ProHeat has no separate formula bottle. Instead, it is equipped with a measuring cup, built into the lid of the water tank, to help you add the proper amount of formula into clean water. So, if you want to clean carpet with formula and water, you have to mix them before cleaning.

Both Bissell DeepClean Premier 47A2 and Bissell Proheat Pet 89108 are upright carpet cleaners, they cannot be used as a dry vacuum, they just extract the dirty water.
Below we will discuss some similar features and differences between these 2 Bissell carpet cleaning machines.

Similarities:
* Tank Design
Both of them have only one tank. But the clean water and dirty water are kept separate. So, what separates them?
It is the tank in tank design. Inside the tank, there is a bladder to hold the clean water while the collected dirty water stores outside the bladder.

* Bare Floor Cleaning Ability
Though they are designed for cleaning carpets, both of them allow you to attach a bare floor tool to the bottom for use on hard floor surfaces. The bare floor tools sold separately.

“It spins when the trigger is pressed to indicate that the machine is applying cleaning solution to the carpet and will stop spinning when the formula tank or bladder needs to be refilled, or when the trigger is release.”
