    Cleaning System
    The cleaning system they employ is the biggest difference between them.
    The 880 employs new cleaning system which they call it AeroForce Performance Cleaning System that has the new airflow accelerator and high efficiency vacuum, irobot claim that this new cleaning system is more powerful, has better ability of vacuuming up dirt, dust, hair and debris.
    Furthermore, it requires less maintenance because of its brushless extractors. Unlike the 650 which uses 1 bristle brush and 1 rubber brush to grab dirt and debris, the 880 uses dual counter-rotating brushless extractors that has less tangle problem.

    Battery Type
    The 650 comes an Advanced Power System (APS) 3000 mAh NiMH Battery while the 880 comes with the new iRobot XLife Extended Life Battery which doubles the time before a replacement may be necessary.
