Compare Neato BotVac vs XV, what’s the difference?

Side Brush
Many XV users complain the lack of side brush, now the BotVac adds a side brush to the robot for edge cleaning.

Main Brush
The main brush on the BotVac is longer, its length is 10.9″ versus 9.4″ on the XV series. And the brush gets closer to walls for better edge cleaning.

Bin
BIN size now is larger, the BotVac capacity is 0.7L versus 0.6L on the XV. And the BotVac filter is also larger.

Button Design
The XV has a Start button near the LCD display that is located at the top right, the BotVac does not have this traditional button any more. Instead, it employs a touch style House/Power button and adding a Spot cleaning button near the bottom.

Battery
They both use NiMH battery.
However, the BotVac battery pack is a rechargeable NiMH battery whereas the XV battery Pack is a set of 2 rechargeable NiMH batteries.
The Neato XV is powered by 14.4V (2 x 7.2V) 3200mAh NiMH batteries that are placed in 2 compartments whereas the BotVac is powered by 1 x 12V 3800mAh battery.

Weight
The BotVac weighs 9 lbs whereas the XV weighs 8.6 lbs.

Dimensions(L x W x H):
The BotVac dimensions are 12.7″ x 13.2″ x 3.9″ whereas the XV dimensions are 12.5″ x 13.0″ x 4.0″.

Noise Level
There are mix reviews. Some users say that the noise level is lower while others say it’s higher.
