Comparing Hoover Max Extract Models

Let’s discuss the difference between the Hoover Max Extract Models, including Max Extract 60 Pressure Pro Carpet Cleaner FH50220, Max Extract 77 Multi-Surface Pro Carpet & Hard Floor Cleaner
FH50240, Max Extract All Terrain Carpet Cleaner F7452900PC, Max Extract Dual V WidePath Carpet Washer F7412900

* SpinScrub
The Max Extract 60, All Terrain, Dual V WidePath use Spin Scrub 60.
The Max Extract 77 uses SpinScrub 77.

Don’t know the performance difference, but the design difference is apparent. The SpinScrub 60 has 6 brushes whereas the 77 has 11 brushes.

* Edge Cleaner
It seems that the Max Extract 60 does not has the lime green Edge Cleaner which the Max Extract 77, All Terrain and Dual V WidePath include.

* SpinScrub Setting Options
The Max Extract 77, All Terrain and Dual V WidePath feature the SpinSrub Setting Options that has 3 modes for different needs –
“Spill Pickup mode is suction only, without brush agitation action.
Gentle Scrub mode rotates brushes at slower speed for ceramic tile, linoleum and sealed hardwood floors.
Power Scrub mode maximizes scrubbing action for cleaning carpet and high-traffic areas.”
The control slider is located on the base of the machine.

The Max Extract 60 does not have this adjustable option.

* Tank Capacity
The Max Extract 60 and 77 have 1.15 gallon clean water tank, the All Terrain and Dual V WidePath have 1 ganllon tank capacity.

* Clean Surge
The Max Extract 77 has a Clean Surge feature whereas the other three do not have.
There is a Clean Surge button on the handle that allows you to apply extra detergent to clean stains and heavy traffic areas.

* AutoRinse
The Max Extract 77 and All Terrain have AutoRinse feature whereas the 60 and Dual V WidePath do not feature.
You can set cleaner to wash with detergent on forward stroke, then automatically rinses with fresh water on the backwards stroke.

* Hose Length
Max Extract 60 and 77 have a 9 ft. hose.
The Dual V WidePath and All Terrain come with a 8 ft. hose.

* Motor Amps
The Max Extract 60 and 77 have a 10 amps motor whereas the All Terrain and Dual V WidePath have a 12 amps motor.

The 60 – This is a carpet/area rug cleaner. According to customer care, when clean hard floors, you should use it with the squeegee (part number is 440001358). The machine does not come with the squeegee. You need to buy it separately.
Dual V WidePath – does not come with hard floor squeegee

These are not vacuum cleaner, steamer, they have no water heater.
They have separate tanks for clean water and dirty water.

The main differences between iLife A4 and A4S Pro are as follows:

  • Suction Power
    The A4S Pro has upgraded CyclonePower Cleaning System that doubles the max suction power, it generates a maximum suction power of 2000pa versus 1000pa on the A4S. When setting to Auto mode and Edge mode, suction power is improved by 30 percent comparing with A4s.
  • Auto Boost for Carpets
    The A4S Pro can recognize carpets and boost the suction power for better cleaning results. The A4S, on the other side, does not have this feature.
  • ElectroWall
    The A4S Pro supports virtual barrier, it comes with an
    ElectroWall which is a device that you can use to stop the robot from entering restricted areas. Whereas the A4S does not support the virtual wall.
  • Main Roller
    The A4S Pro uses Bristle and Rubber 2 in 1 Brush which reduces hair tangle issues, whereas the A4S uses Double V-shaped Bristle Brush.

iLife A4 vs A6
The biggest difference between them is that the A6 has virtual wall function, and it comes with a virtual wall whereas the A4S does not support virtual wall.
And the A6 uses tempered glass top cover. It is a bit heavier than the A4S.

The A6 has smaller dust bin capacity. Its capacity is about 0.3L whereas the A4S is over 0.45L.

The A6 uses rubber main brush whereas the A4S uses bristle main brush.

Running Time. The A6 runs up to 160 minutes whereas the A4S runs up to 140 minutes.

The A6 uses new Gen 2 Motor. The Gen 2 motor can generate up to 10X the air power.

The main color of A6 is black whereas the A4S is grey.

1, The V5S Pro has larger wheels with self-rescue technology, the diameter is 65mm versus 58mm on the V5S.

Power Source
The obvious difference between them is the power source.
The Hoover Floormate Deluxe is corded while the Floormate Cordless does not have a cord, it’s powered by 20 Volts Lithium Ion battery. According to Hoover product page, the battery run time is 30 minutes and charge time is 3 hours.

Price
The Cordless is about $90 more expensive than the Deluxe on hoover.com

Handle
The Cordless BH55100PC has a foldable handle, the Deluxe FH40160 series has a fixed handle, the FH40165 and FH40170 have a folding handle.

Tank Capacity
Both have dual tanks. The Floormate Deluxe tanks hold more, it has a 1.5-quart clean water tank and a 1.5-quart dirty water tank while the Cordless has 0.75-quart tanks.

Clean Boost Control
The Floormate Deluxe has a Clean Boost trigger which you can press to apply extra cleaning solution to remove those tough stains.
The Floormate Cordless does not have this trigger.

Cleaning Modes
The Cordless BH55100PC has a Wash & Dry Mode and a Scrub Mode, the Deluxe FH40160 and FH40165 series have Wash mode and Dry mode, the FH40170 has Scrub Mode, Wash Mode and Dry mode.
Wash mode lowers the brushes to the floor and uses brushes to clean while suctioning up excess water.
