BATTERY TYPE
The DCV581H wet dry vacuum is designed to operate on a DEWALT 18V NiCd/NiHiD/Li-Ion battery pack, 20V Max Li-Ion battery pack, or a 120V AC input.
Whereas the DC500 is designed to run off of a 12.0, 14.4, or 18V DEWALT battery pack, or 120V AC input.

DRAIN PORT
The DC500 has a drain port on the tank for quick, spill-free disposal of liquids.
It seems that the DCV581H does not have the drain port.

The difference between VacuMaid GV50, GV50PRO, GV30PRO and GV30 is the Motor and Hose Length.

Motor.
The Pro version motor profile –
120 volt 5.7″ Ametek Lamb motor, 15 Max Amps, 138″ Sealed Vacuum, 740 Max Air Watts, 550-650 hours of motor life, 137.5 CFM.

The Standard version motor profile –
120 volt 5.1″Ametek Lamb motor, 12 Max Amps, 95″ Sealed Vacuum, 507 Max Air Watts, 400-450 hours of motor life, 138 CFM.

Hose.
“30” and “50” refer to the hose length.
The GV30 and GV30PRO have a 30 ft. hose.
The GV50 and GV50PRO have a 50 ft. hose.

Other than the above things, they are nearly the same.

Here are some differences between DeWalt DC500 and DC515K/DC515B that may affect your buying decision.
The DeWalt DC515B and DC515K are the same vacuum, the only difference is that the DC515B is bare tool which means it does not come with battery nor charger whereas the DeWalt DC515K includes a 18-volt XRP Ni-Cad battery and one-hour Ni-Cad charger.

There are some big differences between DeWalt DC500 and DC515, such as power options, tank size, and cleaning modes.

Power Source
The DC500 can be corded or cordless, it can run off 12V, 14.4V or 18V battery packs (not included) or 120V AC input whereas the DC515 can only be powered by 18V battery.

Tank Capacity
The DC515 holds 1/2-gallon whereas the DC500 has a much larger tank that can hold up to 2 gallons.

Cleaning Modes
The DC500 works like a canister vacuum, it picks up via hose whereas the DC515 works like a handheld vacuum, it has 2 cleaning modes, its front utility nozzle allows you to hold it to vacuum with one hand. With the DC500, you are unable to carry it to do one hand cleaning. However, you can buy a shoulder strap for the DC500, it has hoops for shoulder strap.

Hose Length
The DC500 has a 5 ft. flexible rubber hose whereas the hose length on the DC515 is only 2.5 ft.

Blower
The DC500 can be used as a blower whereas the DC515 does not support.

Included Tools
The DC500 comes with a crevice tool and wide mouth nozzle whereas the DC515 does not include any tools. However, it has a built-in utility nozzle.

Weight
The DC500 is heavier.

The main difference between DeWalt DCV580H and DCV581H is the Power Source.

The DCV580H is just battery driven only whereas the DCV581H has a 5 ft. power cord, it can be battery powered or outlet powered.
The DCV581H is a bit heavier. It weighs approximately 9.1 pounds versus 8 pounds on the DCV580H. Maybe this is because of the extra power feature, some extra stuff added to the unit so that it can support both AC and DC.

The performance of the DCV580H and DCV581H (corded or cordless) are almost the same. If you are deciding between them, just buy the cheaper one. But if you want one that can can be battery powered and also have a power cable, then you should go for the DCV581H.

We will dicuss the similarities and differences between Bissell Spotbot and Spotlifter below, hope it will help you buy the right carpet spot cleaner machine.

Similarities.
Both of them are designed for small cleaning jobs, such as carpet stain removal, stair and upholstery cleaning.
No built-in water header. (If you’d like to buy a spot cleaner with heater, you can have a look at the Little Green Proheat which equiped with a heater that heats hot tap water up to 25 degrees hotter.)
They have dual tanks, one for collecting dirty water and one for storing clean water or water with detergent.
Both have motorized brushes.
