Both Bissell DeepClean Premier 47A2 and Bissell Proheat Pet 89108 are upright carpet cleaners, they cannot be used as a dry vacuum, they just extract the dirty water.
Below we will discuss some similar features and differences between these 2 Bissell carpet cleaning machines.

Similarities:
* Tank Design
Both of them have only one tank. But the clean water and dirty water are kept separate. So, what separates them?
It is the tank in tank design. Inside the tank, there is a bladder to hold the clean water while the collected dirty water stores outside the bladder.

* Bare Floor Cleaning Ability
Though they are designed for cleaning carpets, both of them allow you to attach a bare floor tool to the bottom for use on hard floor surfaces. The bare floor tools sold separately.

* Brush System
The DeepClean Premier uses 10 Row Dual DirtLifter PowerBrush whereas the Proheat Pet uses 6 Row DirtLifter PowerBrush.

* Heatwave Technology vs Built-in Heater
The DeepClean Premier features Heatwave Technology that helps maintain consistent water temperature while the machine is in use, the heat is generated by the machine motor, it does not have a heater.
Whereas the Proheat Pet has a built-in heater which allows you to turn it on/off, when turned on, it continuously heats hot tap water up to 25 degrees hotter and the water temperature will not hotter than 180 degrees.

* Tank Capacity
The DeepClean Premier equipped with a 25% larger tank than the Proheat Pet.
The tank capacity are 1.25 gallons versus 1.00 gallon.

* Floor / Tool Cleaning Option
The DeepClean Premier is designed with an automatic diverter. To clean with hose and tools, you just lock the machine upright.
Whereas the Proheat Pet has a dial knob that allows you to switch between the cleaning modes.

* Cleaning Water and Solution Mixing
The DeepClean Premier has no separate bottle for storing solution, you have to pour the solultion into the bladder which holds the clean water.
Whereas the Proheat Pet has a separate bottle for holding solution. The clean water and solution are kept separate before cleaning. The machine has a SmartMix feature, it automatically mixes right amount of solution with water according to your setting, there are 3 options you can select from – Heavy Traffic, Normal, or Water Rinse.

* Edge Brushes
The DeepClean Premier has EdgeSweep brushes to help clean along baseboards and edges whereas the Proheat Pet does not feature.

* Surround Suction
The DeepClean Premier has Surround Suction function that provides suction along the sides and front of the nozzle to help extract water and solution on the sides.

* Flow Indicator
The Proheat Pet has a Flow Indicator which is located on the machine base.
“It spins when the trigger is pressed to indicate that the machine is applying cleaning solution to the carpet and will stop spinning when the formula tank or bladder needs to be refilled, or when the trigger is release.”
“It does not spin when spraying through the attachment hose”
While the DeepClean Premier does not have this feature.

* Cord Length
The DeepClean Premier has a cord length of 22-foot versus 25-foot on the Proheat Pet.

* Warranty
The DeepClean Premier carries 3 year warranty versus 1 year warranty on the Proheat Pet.

* Price
The Proheat Pet is about $40 cheaper.
The DeepClean Premier is priced at $199.99 whereas the Proheat Pet is priced at $158.88 at bissell.com.

Bissell DeepClean Premier 47A2 and DeepClean Premier Pet 17N4 are very similar carpet cleaners, most of their features are the same, such as the dual rotating Powerbrushes design, 1.25 gallon 2-in-1 tank, Heatwave technology, and edge brushes. However, there are also some slight differences. According to Bissell, the Pet version 17N4 has some features that are designed specifically for pets, whereas the 47A2 does not have.

The is the main difference between DeepClean Premier and DeepClean Premier Pet. Both of them use dual powerbrush design, however, the 17N4 has 12 rows of brushes whereas the 47A2 has 10 rows.

iRobot Roomba 980 vs 880 what’s the difference?

iRobot just lanched the Roomba 980 on September 2015. This new Roomba model adds some new features, such as visual navination and resume cleaning, and also retains some old ones like 3 stage cleaing system.
Let’s compare Roomba 980 and 880 below to find the differences and similarities between them.

Difference:

Cleaning Pattern
Before Roomba 980, all iRobot Roomba robotic vacuum cleaner models, including 880, use a random cleaning style, but now, the 980 utilized a systematic cleaning pattern.

Mapping and Navigation
The 980 adds a camera and new sensors that enable it to create a map of the cleaning enrionment and keep tracking its location. Whereas the 880 and other older Roomba models do not have these things.

Auto Recharge and Resume
The 980 is able to recharge itself automatically when it is short of battery power and resume cleaning where it has not cleaned. While the 880 does not have the resume cleaning feature.

Entire Level Cleaning
With the new mapping, visual navigation, auto recharge & resume features,the 980 can clean an entire level automatically. Whereas the 880 only supports multi-room cleaning (up to 3 rooms) with a 25 minute limit per room, when it runs out of battery, it does not resume cleaning.

Home App
The Roomba 980 has wi-fi connectivity. iRobot offers a Home App that allows you to control the 980 via your smart phone, it supports both Android and iOS.

Control Button
iRobot reduce the amount of control buttons on the 980, it now has only 3 buttons – Clean, Home, Spot. Some functions that were controlled via buttons on the Roomba 880, such as schedule cleaning, are now controlled by the Home App.

Battery
The 980 use Lithium ion battery to replace the Nickel Metal Hydride battery on the 880. The lithium ion has longer running time. According to iRobot, it runs up to 2 hours per charge. This depends on the flooring types.

Carpet Boost
The 980 features a Carpet Boost function that enables it to increase the cleaning power when it detects carpeted surfaces whereas the older models do not have this feature.

Performance
According to user reviews, there is almost no improvement, some even say that the 880 cleans better.

Price

The 980 is priced at $899.99 that is $200 more expensive than the Roomba 880.

Color
Color choice is just a personal preference, so, not an important one for a cleaning robot.
The Roomba 980 is in black with brown and grey while the 880 is in black with silver.

Weight
The 980 is a bit heavier, it weighs 8.7 lbs whereas the 880 weighs 8.4 lbs.

Similarities:
The 980 keeps many features on the 880 model like the round shape, Aero Force 3 stage cleaning system, 2 main brushless rotating extractors, 1 side brush, spot cleaning, dirt detection, dirt bin.
