The BISSELL® CrossWave® HydroSteam is a new Crosswave model.
It has some big changes compared to Crosswave regular models, Pet/Pet Pro models and Premier.

BISSELL® CrossWave® HydroSteam vs Pet/Pet Pro/Premier what’s the difference?

The HydroSteam adds a separate power button to turn on/off the machine where the other models does not have a separate power button, when using those models, you just press one of the mode buttons to start cleaning.
The Hydrosteam adds another mode – SteamWash Mode along with the Hard Floor Mode and Area Rug Mode, the other models have only the Hard Floor Mode and Area Rug Mode.
The Hydrosteam also feature a Clean Out Cycle which automatically self-clean the machine. You just empty dirty water tank if there’s anything inside, then fill clean tank with water and formula up to the Clean Out fill line, place the machine on the tray, press the Clean Out Cycle button on the handle to get it done. For other models, you need to pour water into the storage tray, turn the machine ON by pressing the Hard Floor button, recline the machine while in storage tray to allow it to run for 10-15 seconds until all water is picked up.
The HydroSteam also has a foot display that shows which mode is selected.
Its brush roll is thicker than other models’.
This model also has a strainer inside the dirty water tank and Tangle-Free Brush Roll like the pet models.

The main difference between between the regular Bissell Crosswave 1785 series, 2211W and Crosswave Pet 2328, Pet Pro 2306/2306a, Pet Pro Plus 2305, Pet Pro Upgrade 2303, Premier 2304P is that the pet models feature a Pet Hair Strainer in the dirty water tank and use Tangle-Free Brush Roll.

  • The Pet Hair Strainer is designed for collecting pet hair and large particles. Without the strainer, all the collected debris would be in your sink drain when you dump the dirty water, this may cause clog.
  • Bissell claimed that the Tangle-Free Brush Roll can minimize pet hair from wrapping around the brush roll and getting tangled while cleaning.
  • Warranty. The Crosswave Pet models commonly have a limited 3 year warranty and the regular Crosswave commonly carries a limited 2 year warranty. Some special models may carry a longer warranty period.
  • Other difference is the included accessories and color.

Power Source
The obvious difference between them is the power source.
The Hoover Floormate Deluxe is corded while the Floormate Cordless does not have a cord, it’s powered by 20 Volts Lithium Ion battery. According to Hoover product page, the battery run time is 30 minutes and charge time is 3 hours.

Price
The Cordless is about $90 more expensive than the Deluxe on hoover.com

Handle
The Cordless BH55100PC has a foldable handle, the Deluxe FH40160 series has a fixed handle, the FH40165 and FH40170 have a folding handle.

Tank Capacity
Both have dual tanks. The Floormate Deluxe tanks hold more, it has a 1.5-quart clean water tank and a 1.5-quart dirty water tank while the Cordless has 0.75-quart tanks.

Clean Boost Control
The Floormate Deluxe has a Clean Boost trigger which you can press to apply extra cleaning solution to remove those tough stains.
The Floormate Cordless does not have this trigger.

Cleaning Modes
The Cordless BH55100PC has a Wash & Dry Mode and a Scrub Mode, the Deluxe FH40160 and FH40165 series have Wash mode and Dry mode, the FH40170 has Scrub Mode, Wash Mode and Dry mode.
Wash mode lowers the brushes to the floor and uses brushes to clean while suctioning up excess water.
Scrub Mode lowers the brushes to the floor and uses brushes to clean, but stops the suction for extra cleaning with solution and water.
Dry mode raises the brushes off of the floor, stops brushes to suction up excess water.
Wash & Dry Mode maintains suction to let you wash when you move forward and dry when you pull back.

Mode Selection Control Position
The Floormate Deluxe has the mode selection switch near the handle.
The Cordless has it on the handle for fingertip control.

The Hoover Floormate Edge FH40190 and Floormate Deluxe FH40160PC are hard floor cleaners, they are designed to clean hard surfaces like sealed hardwood, vinyl, ceramic tile, laminate and marble.
Both of them have separate tanks for clean and dirty water, SpinScrub brushes, and Wash/Dry mode selection, removable nozzle, and carry 2 year limited warranty.

However, they are not identical to each other, here are some differences between Hoover Floormate Edge and Floormate Deluxe.

Cord Length
The Floormate Deluxe FH40160PC has a 20-foot cord.
The Floormate Edge FH40190 cord measures 25 feet.

Tank Capacity
The Floormate Deluxe has larger tanks.
The Floormate Deluxe has a 1.5-quart clean water tank and a 1.5-quart dirty water tank.

There are some notable differences between Shark PRO Steam & Spray SK460 and Shark Professional Steam Pocket Mop S3601.

Tank Capacity
The S3601 water tank holds 500ml versus 450ml on the SK460.

Power
The S3601 is 1550 watts versus 1050 watts on the SK460.

Steam Control
Both of them use Intelligent Steam Control with 3 settings Dust(S3601)/ SaniFiber disposable pad, Mop, and Scrub.
However, the steam control button location is different. The S3601 has the control near the top of the steam mop body whereas the SK460 has it on the handle for more convenient reach.

Mop Heads and Pads
The head and pads on S3601 support two-sided cleaning which allow you to double the cleaning area by flipping over the steam head without changing pads. Whereas the SK460 does not provide two-sided cleaning.
The S3601 can use rectangle mop head, triangle head, and even a carpet glider whereas the SK460 does not have optional heads.
The SK460 comes with washable pads and disposable pads whereas the S3601 uses only washable pads.

Cleaning Solution
Both of them have a water tank and you can only fill the tank with water only. However, the SK460 has additional bottle to hold cleaner. You can press the Spray Button to apply solution onto the floor that is to be cleaned. This allows you to combine steam and cleanser to clean those tough greasy stuck-on messes.

Cleaning Modes
The SK460 offers 3 modes of cleaning – Spray Only, Steam Only, and Spray & Steam.
Whereas the S3601 only has steam only mode.

Power Cord
The SK460 has a removable power cord, you can use the steam mop to do spray only cleaning without the cord. But you cannot steam cordless, it does not come with rechargeable battery to run the mop.
Whereas the S3601 has a built in cord.
